n Her Shoes is back for the 3rd year!  Join us to provide medical care for families when they need it most. With an individual registration you\'ll provide 5 ambulance rides to patients in need of emergency transportation in rural Ghana.

ABOUT IN HER SHOES

5 kilometers: the minimum distance she would have to walk to the nearest hospital to give birth safely in rural Ghana. That’s 5 kilometers (approximately 3 mi) she has to walk in labor in hot, unyielding sun in dry season or torrential storms in rainy season. But who is “she”? She is not just one woman; she is the multitude of women who have given birth on the side of the road walking to seek medical care. She is the woman who has had 9 children and never once received postnatal care. She is the woman who fears for her unborn baby’s life but has no way of getting to the care they need. She also needs you. Step into her shoes to run or walk that distance so that the next laboring mother won’t have to. This May, save lives one step at a time with Moving Health\'s 5k, In Her Shoes. By joining the Moving Health community around the world in this charity walk/run, you can help communities that struggle to access critical maternal care from a lack of emergency transport. The 5k will start and end at Magazine Beach in Cambridge, MA. Tee shirts will be available, as will water for your refillable water bottle (please bring your own!). Thanks to a generous donor, all participants will receive homemade ice cream at the end of the race from Reasons to be Cheerful! This is a "fun" event, which means it will not be timed.
