_ The 4th annual Cloudcroft Ultra 53k, 9.5 mile & 4.75 (4.75 mile newly added in 2021):

Join us for the 4th annual Cloudcroft Ultra 53k, 9.5 mile & 4.75 (4.75 mile newly added in 2021) trail races in the beautiful Sacramento Mountains in Cloudcroft, New Mexico. Cloudcroft is located at an altitude of 8600' in the southern most part of the Rocky Mountain chain.

All three races are an out an back on the Rim Trail (T105). The Rim Trail was the first U.S. Forest Service Trail in New Mexico to be designated as a National Recreation Trail. It is a combination of old Indian paths, railroad grades, homestead trails and logging routes linked together by newer section built in the 1960’s and beyond. The majority of the trail passes through shaded stands of fir, pine and quaking aspen. At various points along the route there are spectacular views of the Tularosa Basin over 4,000’ below. The 53k will have a nice surprise for you in the lollipop loop at the turn around point - incredible views, and some nice changes in elevation!!

All races will start and finish at the Pavilion in Zenith Park in Cloudcroft, New Mexico.

Entry includes a technical t-shirt, finisher awards to all 53k racers, post race food, well stocked aid stations and a well marked course.

Packet pick up - Friday, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the pavilion in Zenith Park next to the tennis courts or Saturday morning 45 minutes before the designated race starts. We have spread out the starts to limit the number of people at the pavilion. Please do not show up more than an hour before your race. Awards will be given out as you finish for the 53k and 9.5mile. A short awards ceremony will be at approximately 9:15 am for the 4.75 mile race..
