_ The 2022 We Love Homewood 5K:

WE LOVE HOMEWOOD 5K

We look forward to seeing you at the starting line of the We Love Homewood 5k.  This race has supported fine arts in Homewood City Schools since its inception as the Spirit Scamper in 2012.  With this being the 10th anniversary of our race, we are adding a special award for the top 10 overall finishers and a new fun run for kids, The Neighbors Ice Cream Scoop and Scurry Fun Run.

Age-group awards, Overall male/female and Masters male/female, special top 10 finisher awards.
Our awards are hand painted ceramic medallions that you won't find at ANY OTHER RACE!
The road course winds through the Edgewood community with entertainment provided by HHS marching band in ensembles. Expect to see neighbors in Edgewood cheering along as you complete our friendly 5K. 1. T-shirt Deadline: Must Register by midnight April 15th 2. Race Packet Pick-up and T-shirt pickup

Saturday, May 7th - 6:30-7:00 a.m. Picnic area at back of Homewood Park near Manhattan Street. 3. Race day Registration: $40 - 6:30-7:00 a.m. 4. No dogs allowed on the course. Strollers are welcome. 5. In the event of inclement weather, the race is canceled. No Refunds. Race Schedule

7:30am                          Start of We Love HWD 5K. ONE HOUR CUT-OFF
8:30 am                         Streets open after the 5K, Awards Presentation at picnic tables begins asap following finish of 5K.  
8:40 am                         Neighbors Ice Cream Scoop and Scurry Kids Fun Run (K-5)!  Start and Finish will be the Finish Line of the We Love HWD 5K. 

NEIGHBORS ICE CREAM SCOOP AND SCURRY KIDS FUN RUN

K-5 grade students from Hall Kent, Shades Cahaba and Edgewood will compete to see which school can bring the biggest team to complete the one mile fun run. 

Individual Awards: All finishers will earn a free ice cream scoop at the finish line of the Scoop and Scurry Fun Run.

The school with the highest percentage of participants will earn the SCOOPERintendent's Trophy, presented by Dr. Hefner.

The school with the highest grade level with the highest percentage of participants will earn an END OF THE YEAR ICE CREAM PARTY for that grade presented by Neighbors Ice Cream.

!!! T-shirts  not picked up by race day will be sold by Homewood High School Show Choir as a fundraiser !!!
Awards not collected at the awards ceremony following the 5K, must be picked up at Trak Shak the week following the race.
