_ The 2022 Paseo de Mariposa:
Located in the Sierra Nevada foothills, home to Yosemite National Park, Mariposa is rich in history and natural beauty, ideally suited for those interested in outdoor activities. The sixth annual Paseo de Mariposa, is a 5K, 8(ish)K and 12K Trail Run held within Mariposa County. The race starts on the grounds of the Mariposa Courthouse, the oldest courthouse (c.1851) west of the Rockies that is still in use.
This event promotes health and overall wellness. The mission is to engage children in active lifestyles. All children under the age of 18 years are eligible to participate in each event at no cost.
The 12k trail run is for the running enthusiasts. The single path trail winds through the Stockton Creek Preserve, with lots of elevation gain, and a bit of technical trail. Strollers are not permitted.
The 8-ish K is a great run for trail runners that want to enjoy the preserve without the elevation gain! Strollers are permitted.
The 5k is an out and back, with half of the run taking place within Mariposa town, and half the run on the Stockton Creek Preserve as well. Strollers are permitted
The Caterpillar Crawl is for little racers 5 years old and under. They will race along a the courthouse lawn during the race festivities.
