_ The 2022 Pink Up The Pace 5K Walk/Run:- POSTPONED
From The Race Registration Website:
"Due to the possible impact that Hurricane Ian can cause, we are forced to reschedule Friday's expo, Saturday's walk/run and the Open House Party at Cancer Specialists of North Florida. Safety comes first.
Unfortunately, the city is busy preparing for Hurricane Ian and thus we are unable to discuss a reschedule date until then. We understand the importance this event has on the community and are doing our best but sometimes there are things that cannot be controlled.
Once we have a date to reschedule, we will notify you. Once again thank you for your support because without you our mission could not be fulfilled.
Stay safe!"
Would like to cordially invite you to our annual "Pink Up The Pace" 5k walk/run. This year’s event will begin with our exciting and popular expo on Friday, September 30th at Anastasia Baptist Church. On Saturday, October 1st, we will kick off October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month with our 5k walk/run through our historic downtown St. Augustine. Pink Up The Pace (PUTP) is a non-profit organization founded by Cindy Ortiz Chaconas in 2009, when diagnosed at age 28.
The race is now in its 14th year and continues to make an impact and grow. The 2009 inaugural race brought in over 800 participants and raised $20,000. In 2019, there were 2,900 participants and $50,000 raised. All the money raised stays in St. Johns County and goes directly towards our mission of assisting the uninsured and underinsured in the early detection of breast cancer. In the last 13 years, we have been able to pay out about $350,000 in breast imaging services to the men and women in need in our county.
Thank you for your continued support
