Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired provides support, rehab, advocacy and hope to people with limited or no sight. The 16th Annual Run for Sight 5K helps our clients Thrive in a Sighted World. This event takes place in one of the most beautiful, picturesque parks along Lake Michigan - at Pere Marquette Park. Packet Pickup - If you're able, please pick up your race packet on Friday, September 2nd at Shoreline Vision located at 1266 E Sherman Blvd Any packets not picked up on Friday will be available day of the Run/Walk at 7:00 AM in the parking lot between the Coast Guard Station and Margaret Drake Elliot Park. IMPORTANT PARKING UPDATE: The City of Muskegon implemented paid parking at Pere Marquette last year with the 2022 daily rate on weekends of $10 (or a season pass for $20). Racers will find a number of kiosks located near parking spaces that will take credit cards and coins. Dispensed parking passes must be displayed on the driver’s side dashboard. The 5K Run is competitive and the 5K Walk is family and dog friendly, but remember; dogs must be on a leash and picked up after. The 5K Run starts at 8:30 AM. We will offer a staggered start time to ensure safety and to avoid large crowds. The 5K Walk will start immediately after the runners. An awards ceremony will be held following the event for the top 3 finishers in each age/gender category. Finish times and places will be posted immediately following the event. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Checks payable to "ABVI" along with Mastercard, Visa, and Discover will be accepted on race day. Registered participants will receive a Run For Sight shirt. T-Shirts guaranteed for first 300 entered. No shirt guaranteed after 8/16. Chip Timing by Runner's Edge Race Timing.
