THE 40th ANNUAL TETON MOUNTAINEERING CACHE CREEK TO GAME CREEK TRAIL RUN

SATURDAY, JULY 9, 2022

Race Location: Cache Creek to Game Creek Trail. Starts in upper lot of Snow King Resort, runs up Cache Creek and down Game Creek,  Typically, we had out the awards at Game Creek and bus you back.  We are working out the safest way to do that.  Many of may choice to have rides bring you back.  And when picking up race bibs at the store of morning off at the start line, just be mindful of what health and distancing regulations may still be in place.  This event will be chip timed so we are able to stage you apart at the start and tabulate overall course times.   The Teton Mountaineering Cache Creek Trail Run race covers approximately 11 miles or 18 k in the picturesque Bridger-Teton National Forest. The race begins at 8 am in the upper Snow King Resort’s parking lot. From there the course proceeds east, up Cache Creek, then climbs up Game Creek Divide (elev. 7,400 ft.) and down Game Creek to the south and west. Total elevation change is roughly 3,000 feet.     NEW THIS YEAR.   EVENT TSHIRTS for $10.  Every finisher gets a finisher medal.  But if you would like to have a commemorative CACHE CREEK to GAME CREEK 20k shirt sign up for a with shirt option. 

Bib and Packet Pick-Up:

Friday, July 9  from 3pm to 6pm . Pre Race Pick up in the TETON MOUNTAINEERING  170 N Cache , Jackson, Wy 83001 You can also pick up race morning. You will receive your chipped Bib when you arrive at the race . Bib pick up will be from 7am to 8am in the upper parking lot of SNOW KING RESORT .  Make sure you patiently wait 6 feet apart and are masked if still required.  Results :We will stagger you at the start over the course of a few minutes.  Course Times will be tabulated by the subtraction of the start mats to the finish mats.  Results will be posted at Teton Mountaineering and emailed by 3pm after the event. Chip TIMED by ITZ ABOUT TIME. Awards: Top three trophies to Overall males and females. TOP THREE Age Division awards in 10 year age spans.

Age Categories:  

 Age DIVISION MEDALS: 14 & under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69 , & 70plus.  Plus award to Oldest finisher. Youngest finisher.  Top Three male and female Overall Trophies. EVERYONE gets a finisher medal!   CUSTOM CAST FINISHER MEDAL to every FINISHER!   Just running that beautiful course is a TROPHY!!!

Runners’ Kits:

Runners clothing bags may be dropped at the start area for pick up at the finish. They can be placed in the back of the TIMING truck. Mark them clearly with your name and bib number..

Registration:

Because of the need to preserve these lands there is a limit to the number of entries available. Register online. You will be required at packet pick up to sign a release waiver.

Awards:

AWARDS at GAME CREEK finish area.  Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers. Raffle prizes Will be mailed. Age division awards can be picked up. No Shuttle will be provided to bring runners back to Snow King if we are still experiencing covid precautions .  We are asking each of you to  make arrangements to be picked up in Game Creek. Arrange carpools among yourselves for a ride back.  Bring a mask if needed to safely travel with others. And let us know if you DO need a ride back. 

Accommodations:

The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce can help answer questions regarding lodging and the wide variety of recreational
opportunities that Jackson Hole, Grand Teton National Park and nearby Yellowstone National Park have to offer. (307) 733-3316 Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm MST.  Plan ahead.  This is a heightened and busy time of the tourist season.  But it is also the best time to run through this area.  The wildflowers are awesome!

Aid Stations:

2 water stations are provided along the course. However, due to the back country location and rugged nature of this race, racers are encouraged not to depend on these stations as their sole supply of water. Bring your own water bottle or runner's vest to be sure!
Backcountry Etiquette: Runners using food packets, etc. during the race are reminded to carry out all their own trash. Conscientious backcountry travel ensures future access for all of us who enjoy the National Forest Service lands. RESTROOMS:  One porta potty will be at the start and one at the gate at Game Creek when you finish.  SPECIAL THANKS TO Teton Mountaineering for making this historic run possible.

CAN"T make the July 9 race date?!  RUN the COURSE VIRTUALLY anytime in the  spring/summer/or fall and have a bib, shirt, and finisher medal mailed to you. The beauty of this option is...you can RUN IT VIRTUALLY any time!
