The fifth annual Bears Who Care OktoBEARfest 5K Fun Run & Walk is a healthy, family-friendly event that will be more BEARRIFIC than ever!  Either in person or virtually, run, walk or jog for a worthwhile cause, Bears Who Care, which provides teddy bears and books to children in need throughout the community.  After the 5K and Kid’s 1K, enjoy a morning of fun activities, including live entertainment, interactive sponsor booths, raffles, a scavenger hunt, plus prize giveaways. A special celebrity guest will be making an appearance this year:  Emmy award-winning actor, Eric Martsolf and star of the popular NBC daytime drama, "Days of our Lives!"  There is an OktoBEARfest 5K VIP experience  (on 10/23/22) available for a limited number of guests, so you can walk the race route and take photos with him.  Your registration includes an official race t-shirt, finisher medal, goody bag, VIP seating area and a special autographed gift.  You can also attend a cocktail reception on Saturday evening (on 10/22/22) at a location TBA, which includes a meet & greet with Eric, appetizers and cocktails (cash bar). *Each experience is limited to 25 guests.* Runners and walkers are all welcome to participate!

Awards will be given in the following categories:
5K - Top Ten Male, Top Ten Female

TIMING AND SCORING:
This event will be chip timed using a disposable chip on the back of your bib.  Please be sure to wear your bib on the front side just below your chest to ensure accurate scoring. Bibs not worn in the proper place may not receive a proper time.  Results will be posted onsite day of race and online.

PACKET PICK UP:
Pre-race packet pick up and race registration times will be posted closer to the event. Packet Pick Up Location:  Orlando Health Horizon West - 17000 Porter Road - Winter Garden, FL 34787 *5K packets and bibs will be available at the event starting at 6:30 am before the start of the race.  Please go to the Registration/Packet Pick Up area near the Start/Finish line.

PARKING:
Parking will be on the left side as you face the front of the Orlando Health building (on the same side as the emergency room).  There will be signs and attendants guiding you.

T-SHIRTS:
All pre-registered participants will receive a special event day t-shirt.  Sizes are only guaranteed to participants registered by 10/9/21.  Shirts and shirt sizes are not guaranteed for day of race registration. 

RESTRICTIONS:
For safety reasons, bicycles, skateboards, inline/roller skates, motorized carts of any kind and pets are not allowed on the race course.  Baby strollers and baby joggers are welcome to participant, but must start at the back of the starting pack.  Children riding in strollers or joggers do not need to be registered.  SAFETY: The health and safety of our community is our priority. This event will have an "in person" capacity of 500 runners with unlimited capacity available for virtual participants.  We will have safeguards in place for everyone's safety and comfort and work closely with local officials on any necessary protocols due to COVID-19. The well-being, peace of mind and safety of everyone attending the event is paramount in our planning and execution. REFUND POLICY:
