Triathlon: Swim, Run, Paddle

Distances:
Swim - 1/4 mile (400 meters) open water, Run - 2 miles on sand, Paddle - 1 mile - Stand Up Paddle SUP or Longboard with Hand Paddles

Amateur Divisions:

Swim, Run, SUP -
Men 18+, Women 18+,
Teen Boys 13-17,
Teen Girls 13-17;

Swim, Run, Longboard/Hand Paddle -
Men 18+, Women 18+,
Teen Boys 13-17,
Teen Girls 13-17;

Race at Tamarack Beach, chip timed & directed by Innovative Timing.

Duathlon: Swim/Run or Run/Paddle

Divisions, Distances and requirements are the same as described in the Triathlon. Run/Paddle includes a division for Run/SUP and a division for Run/Longboard Hand Paddle

One Mile Ocean Swim

Open Ocean Water Swim...marked and chip timed...Amateur Divisions: Men/Women 18-29, Men/Women 30-49, Men/Women 50+, Teen Boys/Girls 13-17

Course Info
Events are marked and chip timed at Tamarack State Beach. 

2 Mile Run: is all on sand at low tide. Course is marked, ungroomed, slight upgrade heading north from Tamarack Beach and looping back.

1/4 Mile Swim: is in open ocean, buoy marked, and lifeguard monitored.

1 Mile Paddle: is in open ocean, buoy marked, and lifeguard monitored. 

1 Mile Ocean Swim: is in open ocean, buoy marked, and lifeguard monitored.

From Interstate 5 north or south:
  • Exit Tamarack Ave. and head West to ocean;
  • Less than 1/2 mileTamarack State Beach paid parking lot will be in front of you on Carlsbad Blvd. 
  • Free parking is available on Carlsbad Blvd. or on neighboring streets.
