2023 Home Run 5K

• 5K Run:- Run 3.1 Miles

_ The 2023 5K Home Run supporting Family Promise of Lawrence:

This race is perfect for seasoned racers, walkers and those who've never run or even walked 3.1 miles. Grab your strollers and favorite pets on a leash -- they're welcome, too! We'll also have bounce houses and other free kids' activities on site.

Virtual participants: You can even track your mileage over the week to total a 5K. (How many trips from the couch to the fridge would you need?) 

All participants receive a race T-shirt. Medals will be awarded for the top in-person male and female overall and master’s (40+) finishers, and the top 3 male and female finishers in these age groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. Virtual participants can submit their race photos to be recognized in a variety of creative categories.

Teams of four or more people can register to receive a $5 discount per person for either the in-person or virtual event. Teams can be a mix of in-person and virtual participants. The largest youth team (18 and under) will win a prize to be determined.

This run supports Family Promise of Lawrence, an agency that works with families who are experiencing a housing crisis in Douglas County and to help them find stabilization through community connections.

Join in on the fun at the Westward Ho! 5K and Fun Run May 6th, where you'll enjoy a unique experience running or walking the Oregon-California Trail and the Wesley Nature Trail. No streets, sidewalks or traffic! Westward Ho! has partnered with Family Promise of Lawrence by providing financial support, awareness and advocacy. This will be the fourth year that Family Promise of Lawrence has been the primary beneficiary of Westward Ho! 5K and Fun Run.
