_ The 2023 Speedy Pd Don Rasmussen 5K/10K & Pd Memorial Walk/Run:
Come enjoy the region's most scenic road race and enjoyable post-race parties! The Speedy Pd Race for Parkinson's disease is the primary event to benefit the Meadowlark Parkinson's Program. The Meadowlark Parkinson's Program provides free services for those in the Flint Hills and beyond! Programming includes exercise, education, and outreach to improve the quality of life for all those affected by Parkinson’s disease including patients, caregivers, therapists, and nurses.
This is the 15th year for the Speedy Pd Race for Parkinson's and we are excited to be running the USATF Certified 5k (3.1 miles) and 10k (6.2 miles) courses set in the beautiful Tuttle Creek State Park in Manhattan, Kansas. The Don Rasmussen 5K and 10K will start at 8 am. This year we are revamping our 1/2-mile event a little to honor all those we have lost to Parkinson's. This event is now the Pd Memorial Walk/Run.
The Speedy Pd has one of the most unique race courses in this area. In usual times, the race is set at the beautiful Tuttle Creek State Park, and the 5K and 10K courses are USATF certified since 2013! Both courses are on all-paved roads. The 5K course is very flat to the finish. The 10K course is also very flat and shaded throughout the course. Both courses include scenic views of the lake, and a great atmosphere with volunteers and supporters lining the course.
The race routes are stroller friendly, and we encourage the whole family to attend!
