Description
Remember when you were a kid and running was all about having fun? Think back to before running became about intervals, split times, and PRs. Back then you ran to increase your fun, rather than your vo2 max. Its interesting how, as kids, we ran for the sheer joy of it - not fitnessbut we were probably in the best shape of our lives. A mud puddle was something we ran through, not around. The amount of mud on your shoes when you hit the sack that night reflected how much fun youd had that day.

Its time to put the FUN back in your run! Wed like to invite you to join us for the MudMan, Vinemans first ever obstacle course & mud run on September 23, 2012. Our 3.5 and 6.1 mile courses and the one mile kid's run on the United States Coast Guard Training Center-Petalumas expansive eight hundred acre base will challenge you with obstacles, natural terrain, and three glorious mud pits. Youll run, climb, crawl, and slosh. You will get filthy. But most of all, youll have fun!

Being a first-time event at a venue - which we are still finding our way around - we reserve the right to take some small liberties with the exact distance and number of obstacles. For sure, well send you into Salamander Canyon with some awesome single track trails and then up Texas hill to the heights of the property. We promise that the final course will be fun, challenging, and muddy.

The short course will also feature a Team category. You simply register under the short course individual and at the prompts you can elect to be on a team (men, women or mixed) and you will be given the chance to enter your team name. Teams are not limited to a certain number but require a minimum of five people. Only the top five team member's times will count toward the overall finish time.
Course Info
3.5 Mile Short Course Details:

The MudMan 3.5 is a three and a half mile obstacle course and mud run which will feature three mud pits plus a variety of man-made and existing obstacles. You can expect about a dozen challenges over the course of the event. There will be things to climb over, slither through, crawl under, slosh through, pull yourself up and over, etc. The obstacles will be designed to be challenging and fun; there will be no burning fire pits or electric shock obstacles.

For those of you who live and breathe for competition, make sure to check the competitive box on the entry form. This will seed you into one of our competitive waves and youll be competing for overall and age group awards. The top three male and female finishers will be recognized in each of the following competitive categories: Overall, 16-29, 30-39, 40+.

If you dont care about awards, sign up for the non-competitive division and youll be rewarded by enabling yourself to sleep in a little later on race day. By doing so, you will be seeded into one of waves a little later in the morning. Youll also be running alongside competitors who are less likely to crawl over the top of you in the mud pit. Everyone in our non-competitive waves will still get an official time and finishers award, but forego an opportunity to stand on the winners podium.
