Description

Brief Description:

"Walk or run to provide fresh water for families around the world". Join WaterHope for our 3rd Walk the Walk Jerry Carry, walk or trail run. This community event is great for first timers, families, trail walkers and runners. Enjoy beautiful Briones Park, while raising money for a better world. This will be a timed event.

Who Benefits?

Proceeds benefit WaterHope, a Bay area non-profit bringing awareness and real solutions to the world water crisis. www.waterhope.org. This year the walk will be raising funds for water well development projects in Chad.

What's a Jerry Can?

These 5-gallon vessels are synonymous with water collection in Africa as they are used to carry the water villagers bathe in, cook with and drink. The first 200 participants registered with will offered the opportunity to carry a jerry can (optional) and symbolically "Walk the Walk" of many global citizens who must rely on these containers to collect their daily water. We suggest this is only for those of you who plan to walk the trail and not the runners.
