- The Touro University Student Chapter of the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine is pleased to announce the 10th Annual Mare Island ZOMBIE Run/Walk on September 25th, 2016.
We have chosen to support the Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve and the Vallejo Global Center for Success due to their continued work in health and wellness. Over the past five races, we’ve had close to 500 total event participants and donated over $1000 to our charities. This year, it is our goal to continue to grow so that we can provide more funding to help the Vallejo community. We have a run participation goal of at least 400 runners/walkers. In addition to raising funds, our other main objective is to promote health and fitness in the Vallejo community.
The Global Center for Success is committed to developing and teaching life skills for future success, while focusing on personal growth, health, wellness, and employment for the Vallejo community. We are honored to sponsor such a well-deserving local program.
Registration/Check-ins open at 7:30am. All participants will receive a free event shirt and have the option to get their face painted to coordinate with our race theme, Zombies. Race begins at 9:00am and will cease close to 10:00am. Afterwards, we will have snacks and drinks, as well as some health fair booths before announcing the race results. The event is set to conclude at noon. It should be a great adventure.
