- If you can’t join us in Gilbert for the Heroes in Recovery 6K, run/walk 6 kilometers virtually! Please complete your 6K run/walk by the end of the week following our Arizona Heroes in Recovery 6K. Email us a selfie of your participation and we’ll mail your swag the following week! Please send emails to [email protected] and include your preferred mailing address and which 6K location you’re virtually supporting! Unless you specify otherwise, we may feature your photo on our social media pages.

Kid’s Activities:
After race participants cross the start line, kid’s activities will begin. Family friendly fun such as caricaturing drawing and face painting can be found in the festival area, and several kid’s only contests will be hosted by the announcer!

The 2017 Charity Beneficiary
The charity beneficiary for the 2017 Arizona Heroes in Recovery 6K is Step One, Inc. Step One’s mission is to introduce a 12-Step-based program to newly sober individuals in a clean, safe environment. People rarely quit abusing drugs and alcohol without getting the proper care and support, but many people cannot afford to go to a rehab facility. This is where Step One offers support with a 90-day treatment program that requires clients to get a 12-Step sponsor and attend one 12-Step meeting daily. Clients must also be willing to get a home group and a service commitment. All of Step One’s staff members are in recovery and are more than willing to teach new clients about how the program works.
Please consider partnering with us in supporting this local non-profit organization. Give a donation, any amount is appreciated and become a fundraising participant to get others involved in supporting our mission for the recovery community.
Be a Volunteer
Interested in helping out at the Heroes 6K Run/Walk in Gilbert, AZ? Volunteers have the option to run the race, too! Each volunteer will receive a Heroes volunteer shirt at check-in.
